I like to eat at haven ever night and then after a year I put all of my used haven cups into my bed and sleep with them. Mmmmmm.

Love Ice Cream Haven. Mourn the winter season when they are closed. I am addicted to the chocolate/vanilla swirl cone. But changed it up a bit with the vanilla Heath concrete. Sounds plain jane but I swear there is some type of addictive substance that keeps me coming back for more!

Cheap and tasty! Been coming here for 14 years and have never had a problem. It's run by a husband-wife team and yes, the husband can be a bit quiet, but he has never been rude to me. His wife is a total sweetheart and more friendly with the customers. The menu is fairly simple but the prices cannot be beat. The "Turtle Pie Sundae" is an entire slice of pie smothered in a huge bowl of ice cream. Price? $3! We can set the entire family up (4 of us) with ice cream for less than $10. The place is cash only, which is probably one way they are able to keep their prices so low. There is outside seating and plenty of parking.

I wind up here a couple times a week. The ice cream is awesome, and is different from the other local shops by just that little bit that makes them better. My current favorite is still a hot fudge and marshmallow shake, but I have not had anything bad yet. My only two complaints is that it is cash only, which is not so horrible since there is a free atm at the GCS Credit Union down the street; and the guy can seem grumpy. But the grumpiness seems mostly to be over people sitting on the tables... and so far this year he hasn't been bad at all. But this place is definitely a place to try.

Ice Cream Haven is fantastic. Never had a problem with the owner. Just have an idea what you want, and order it. It's pretty simple. And yes, his wife is a sweetheart. You couldn't ask for better prices, and this place is so clean. I can't wait until they re-open for the season.

We used to go to Ice Cream Haven a lot - and enjoyed going there the first week and last week of the season. But the guy's SUCH a jerk that after going there twice last year and being treated very rudely by him, we decided to say goodbye to ICH. I mean - what does it say about us to go there - when there are 2 other local ice cream places and a dairy queen and 2 other fast food places that serve ice cream in walking distance. Really? Why pay a jerk to treat you badly. Their ice cream is good - not great - and not any better than the 2 local spots. We'd go back if not for him - and his wife is a doll.

I agree with the previous poster....the old guy is a class A jerk. I mean, c'mon..it's ice cream! Dont be such a grouch and enjoy the smiles it brings kids on hot summer nights. Besides that,it is decent ice cream for a fair price. Although the orange-vanilla swirl had virtually no orange taste to it. I would say it's a decent find.....maybe comparable to Gators Ice Cream in O'Fallon.

The old guy is kinda grumpy but boy, do they have AMAZING ICE CREAM there for an AWESOME PRICE! For example, for 1.50 you get a nice portion of vanilla ice cream on a cone. Well worth the hassle of getting change and taking a .1 mile trip there! I wish they took other forms of payment though.
